Welcome to Zephaniah Class
Our teacher is Mrs Frost and our Learning Support Assistant is Mrs Beck.
In Year 4, the children are encouraged to become more independent in their learning across the curriculum, developing their previously learnt skills as well as embedding new skills and knowledge.
The curriculum is taught with a variety of methods and with opportunities for the children to work in different groups, pairs or individually.

Learning at Home
In Year 4, you can support your child by:
- Practising and encouraging daily reading, helping your child to select text from a range of different genres and responding to their reading orally.
- Reading aloud to your child regularly to promote reading for pleasure as well as modelling intonation and expression.
- Learning all times tables: knowing multiplication facts and related division facts up to and including 12 x 12 as well as the inverse such as 121 ÷ 11 = 11
- Practising the words on the statutory Year 3 and 4 spelling list which can be found in your child’s reading record book

Homework
Weekly homework will be set on Fridays on Seesaw. Please check over your child’s homework before uploading it. Homework will be gone through as a class as part of a lesson to reinforce prior learning. Children can attend homework club if they are unable to complete their homework at home.
PE
PE will be on a Friday, and swimming is on a Thursday until October. Information regarding hair and jewellery can be found by looking at the Uniform Policy on the school website.
