Bawdsey Manor 2025
Monday 20th October
The children have arrived safely at Bawdsey Manor and are settling in well! They have put up their room name signs, which they decorated this morning, and have all chosen their bunks! We got stuck straight into activities this afternoon! Groups 1,2,3 and 4 have all tried their hand at climbing and rifle shooting. Group 5 have zip wired and done some orienteering! We have been really impressed with the children’s positive attitudes and how they are giving things a go even when they seem scary at first! We will soon be going for dinner and then have an evening activity. Whilst it has been wet, the children have remained in great spirits!
Tuesday 21st October
We were up bright and early this morning ready for another exciting day at Bawdsey Manor! The children enjoyed a cooked breakfast, as well as a cereal selection bar, which set them up for the day! Groups 1,2,3 and 4 have done Sensory Trail, Orienteering, Giant Swing and Archery. Group 5 have done Sensory Trail, Survivor, Climbing and Aeroball! Aeroball and Survivor were both activities that we haven’t done in previous years, so Group 5 enjoyed being the first Home Farm children to partake in these activities. This evening, we will be enjoying a game called Balloon Splash where the children will try and build protective covers for their water balloon using coins earned!
Wednesday 22nd October
It was another bright and early morning for Year 6 today and another cooked breakfast which gave them all the energy they needed for the busy day ahead. Groups 1, 2, 3 and 4 enjoyed Jacob’s Ladder, Zip Wire, Challenge Course and Survivor today, whilst Group 5 tackled Trapeze, Archery, Jacob’s Ladder and Fencing. The children are really looking forward to the Campfire tonight! They will learn lots of PGL songs and also toast marshmallows!
Thursday 23rd October
On our final full day, all the groups took part in Aeroball, Archery Tag and a Coastal Walk. It was really lovely for the children to be able to make links between their World War II topic and the history of Bawdsey Manor on their walk. Groups 1-4 also undertook Aeroball, whilst Group 5 did some indoor activities to escape the wind! Whilst the weather wasn’t perfect, the storm was a lot less intense than expected so the majority of activities took place which is fabulous! We are about to enjoy our final evening meal before going on a ‘Passport around the World!’ See you all tomorrow!
