Senior Prefects
At Home Farm Primary School, we are proud to have Senior Prefects who represent all the children throughout the year. They even attend governing body meetings to share the thoughts and ideas of the whole school.
Each year, our Year 5 children write speeches to apply for the role in preparation for transition into Year 6. These speeches are read anonymously by class teachers and the whole school votes for their chosen candidates and the ‘policy’ they want to win. For 2025–26, we have three Senior Prefects due to a tie for second place: Huey, Rojda, and Evie.
Below is a video of them sharing what they love about Home Farm and why our school is special:
Houses
At Home Farm, we have four houses, each with its own colour. Houses meet once a half term for assemblies and children earn house points every week for teamwork and following school rules. At the end of each week, the house with the most points wins the House Cup!
Our houses are:
- Shakespeare – Green
- Keats – Red
- Wordsworth – Yellow
- Shelley – Blue
Each house has representatives who are elected each year. Applications for these roles are written and voted for democratically, supporting our British Values. Houses provide opportunities for collaborative working, purposeful speaking, and leadership development. They work together to achieve shared goals, such as winning the House Cup on Sports Day and enjoy working across the school. This system promotes teamwork, a sense of belonging, and sportsmanship.
This year’s House Captains are:
- Shakespeare: Phoebe and Tilly
- Keats: Dougie and Grace
- Wordsworth: Joseph and Violet
- Shelley: Jess, Hridhaan and Harry
